The implementation of the project activities involves the close collaboration with the project’s four main partners. They bring invaluable expertise in agripreneurship and innovation to the project. We also join hands with other players in the ecosystem for specific activities and events.
Agripreneurship Alliance, based in Uganda and Switzerland, is a non-profit association focusing on Agripreneurship activities in East Africa. The association has already implemented many Agripreneurship-related educational activities in university across Africa. In the AESDEA project it offers the 12-week Agripreneurship course to students and the Train the Trainer course for lecturers.
SUGECO is a Tanzania-based cooperative and agribusiness incubator. It aims at making a difference in the minds of the youth, communities, and graduates from higher learning institutions in support of enterprise development for self-employment, agribusiness development, job creation, community development, and economic prosperity. SUGECO supports the development of the summer school and provides insightful talks to the students during various activities. The cooperative is also represented in the jury of in startup events.
Tomoni Farms Limited is a local agribusiness cultivating tropical fruits such as mangoes, pineapples, oranges, passion fruits, limes, lemons, guavas, avocados and pomegranates. The company provides case studies for the students, supports students with the development of their own business ideas and provides internships.
The AESDEA project is working closely with the UNDP’s Accelerator Labs, who bring in their experience in supporting innovative learning and business incubation. The Accelerator Labs support the project with expertise in the screening and judging of business ideas, with internship opportunities and with inspirational talks during the summer schools and similar activities. Additionally, the UNDP organization will offer internships to students and will give input to the summer school.
